The mystery remains that there are no meteorite craters in the Libyan desert. The nearest known ones are far away from the place where the glass studied in the laboratory was found. In addition, they are too small for an impact of this magnitude.
Pharaoh Tutankhamun ruled in ancient Egypt from about 1332 to 1323 BC. He ascended the throne at the age of 10 and died at the age of 19. Tutankhamun’s tomb was discovered in 1922. In it were found a sarcophagus with the mummified body of the pharaoh, as well as numerous jewellery. For a long time it was believed that the tomb was “cursed”, as the press of the time actively spread a false rumour that the researchers who discovered the burial place had died under mysterious circumstances.
