A satiety-enhancing capsule has been created

Once the capsule starts to vibrate, it activates mechanoreceptors that send signals to the brain, stimulating the vagus nerve. The researchers monitored hormone levels during periods when the device was vibrating and found that they matched those seen after eating, even when the animals were starving.

In the future, the scientists hope to expand production of the capsules and conduct clinical trials with humans to confirm the safety of the device, as well as to determine the best time to swallow the capsules.
